Think some of y'all are confused. @the_FUTURE this isn't the same Octopath Traveler that was on Nintendo Switch. This is a F2P mobile prequel. There's a lot of reused assets clearly but those are entirely different characters. It's not the same cast/stories from the original game.
This isn't too crazy. They did the same with Bravely on 3DS. They had the main games exclusively on 3DS with a movie spin off as well

apparently they're making a new game for console, but it's probably gonna be on multiple platforms next time.
I bought Octopath and ended up putting it down. Beautiful game but my God the combat is boring.
I like the combat. For me the story is too enthralling for me right now. I'm not trying to play with 8 different damn characters.
