Derek Luke, I feel was being primed to be the next dark skinned brotha to take the mantle but something happened. He did this one flick with Tim Robbins where he played a freedom fighter in SA and it's been tv spots since. He ain't the best actor but plenty of cacs are out there eating that are worse.

Gugu Mbatha-Raw is another name that has been on the scene a while but mysteriously hasn't got a break. It's not like she isn't the right age, thandie/Halle though still looking good are 40+. Ben Foster should have. dude is pretty dope and versatile as fukk. I think he's not about he politics and didn't wanna play games so that played a role. I think that lance armstrong biopic will finally get him the credit he deserves though.

Clifton Collins Jr. is another cat who plays alotta dope character roles but never has gotten the one big role to put him on the map nor the credit he deserves.

at least they got the chance, but hey truth is some people are just not cut out to be the main man. Being an ancillary type isn't the worse thing.. Look at Steve buscemi for instance they gave him his own show and he was outshone by half the cast with a character that wasn't exactly likeable. In the 90s I hoped he would be lead and I got my wish and regretted it. John c Reilly is another cat that should stay in his lane and never lead
