Yes. Jimmy Clausen wasn't a bad pick. They drafted dude in the 2nd round and he performed like a rookie 2nd round pick would perform after being thrown to the lions unexpectedly. I think he still has a chance to be a decent backup or starter for someone down the line. I bet the Seahawks would take him over Matt Flynn right now

He can learn a lot behind Cam Newton.
Don't start this stanning shyt. John Fox was Clausen's coach and Fox didn't give a fukk about the passing game. I'm actually wondering how much he's gonna stifle Peyton next year.
Cam got better coaching than Clausen, Cam's a better talent anyway, but Clausen will get better just from being around a coach that wants QB's to do more than handoff and throw screens.

John Fox made Jake Delhomme into a winning QB and look what he did in Denver last year.
Cam came in with a rookie head coach with no off-season training because of the lockout. shyt he didn't even know the playbook that much.
Delhomme winning was a mirage and Fox being a good coach is as much as a mirage as Jeff Fisher. He's only had 3 seasons over 500 in 10 years. Fox's team in Denver was 8-8, rode their run game and defense like he always does, beat an overrated Steelers team with a hobbled QB then got roasted by the Pats aka an actual good team.
Cam's rookie coach worked with Norv Turner, who is definitely offensive minded and has a QB friendly system, then took a Turner disciple to develop Cam. Fox only wanted any of his QB's to handoff, throw a screen, then PA pass and throw deep ala Steve Smith and Demerius Thomas. Cam benefited from everyone else not getting training time. All of his big passing games happened earlier in the season then once they got tape on him he slowed down. Head coaching experience is overrated when it comes to team preparation for games. If a rookie head coach has good coordinators the team can succeed.
