This is a spin-off of the "NC best bet for Black people" thread.

Black people seem to constantly be on the move, looking for the next hot spot. Do you guys thinnk that Black people have given up too easily on their cities of origin?

Do you think that has contributed to the mass gentrification in cities like LA, NYC, etc?

Do you think Black people should collectively choose one region in the US?

When you have no foundation, things like this are bound to happen. Gotta go stay on the move when resources run dry, or other things happen, just like people did 1000s years ago.

But me personally I have to be in the big city up north out west where I have seemed conscience levels to be much higher. I don't really like close minded South.

The reason why Black people move is because they don't have good jobs and they eventually get priced out of a region...

And no...there shouldn't be no sillly collective idea to live in one region...most Black people already live in the South.

That's not even just black people, that's everyone. Like how five years ago with Fracking in the Dakotas being all the rage.

But there are/were cities that already had an established black middle class, black authority, etc, and black people decided to up and migrate out of those cities also. Not every situation involves Black people being chased out...

Well yeah...upwardly mobile Black people in a place, White people leave, most USA citizens have their wealth tied up in a home, home value of upwardly mobile Blacks decrease, poor Blacks move in, area becomes crime infested, a couple of generations pass, upwardly mobile White people move in the hood since it's cheap, Black people get priced out...and it continues and continues.

The key is, that AA's need to fight for the right for a place to live.

Having a place to live with decent jobs and decent public infrastructure needs to become a right.

Bingo...And I applaud those who do so in cities where such a task seems daunting. Black folks who are determined to fight for LA and NYC deserve a standing O.

:wow:
