Shout out to @1BadBamaFan for the idea. Anyways, how did it go?

Indies: UPW, former E developmental, would flier at the events. They were having some E talent on one of their shows. I forgot who it was, but it was enough to go check out the show. It was quite an experience; seeing how small the show was, but fun to take it all in. And the wrestlers, pretty much the entire roster, would mingle after the shows with fans. Ended up going to one more show there.

Eventually I’d get put on to more real Indy feds due to the fliering.

Puro: czwfans. I bought a few tapes back in the mid 2000s, but I never became invested. It wasn’t until I caught the ROH/NJPW Baseball field event in late ‘16 that caught my attention. It was mostly Shibata that caught my eye. Eventually I watched a few matches posted in a thread here. Then I peeped WK and became hooked.

PWI magazine, and eventually WOW magazine from '99-'01. I used to read a ton of wrestling magazines from maybe '94 til WOW magazine folded in 2001 (ECW and WCW being purchased pretty much killed that magazine off). They used to have so much great info and generally interesting things in there, both kayfabe and non-kayfabe, and that includes WWF magazine. Pick up a current WWE magazine, and you will probably be disgusted at how hokey and lifeless it is.

I loved that mag. Still have some issues in the garage.

411 wrestling and Strong Style Symphony are the two sites I went to for everything outside of WWE. SSS led me to ditch's site and that opened my eyes to the Sport of Kings:blessed:

Indies: Dudes like Human TornaGOAT, Danielson, McGuinness, and a few others constantly being brought up in convos on those mid 00s forums. I only knew TornaGOAT through Wrestling Society X, so naturally I went off and did a little research.

Puro: I did a paper for one of my writing classes in high school and Rikodozan was one of the 5 figures in wrestling that ended up being covered as far as influence went. Got an A+ on that shyt for going all the way in depth, too. :myman:
