They see me trolling, they hating.....
Name em brehs :to:

or one with at least 3 main or supporting characters who are black??

Bio films like Spike Lee's "Malcolm X" don't count. (very thought provoking but its a biographical film)

By thought provoking I mean films that are a mind fukk but aren't also hood flix, "Fresh" for example was thought provoking, but it doesn't qualify because its also a "hood" movie.

I guess Eve's bayou would qualify right?

it's kinda cray that all we make are romantic comedies and hood flix :smh:

None that I know of in the 2000s, much less with Sci-fi.

I mean with sci-fi you're gonna have to have most of them be white. I prefer it this way because I'd hate for them to cast black folks setting off a plot that could have been easily avoided and getting a lot people murked.

When Sci-fi films cast a black dude their usually the ones with common sense.

Example, Deep Blue Sea with LL Cool J's and Samuel L. Jackson characters all like :wtf: when that dumb over ambitious scientist bytch got her team of cacs to make giant sharks smarter :beli:

I think "I am Legend" should qualify as a black film/cast even though theres just one black person, and a Spanish broad.....theres literally no one else in that film except zombies/vampires (or whatever the fuk they are)

Can you even name one movie with an ALL black cast that didn't suck? let alone a scifi/thought provoking film. I mean, why does that even matter?

There are a few out there but you never hear about them as they do not go mainstream or get attention ike white films. I kind of do my best to hunt down mainly independent movies with mostly or all black casts.

So basically African Americans portrayal in films isn't really that much different than what it was in the film "Birth of a Nation"

:what:

Man fukk Birth of a Nation. My high school film teacher told us that it was a classic in film-making before he showed it to us...some dude ended up throwing a orange at him.

The intent and message of the film is awful of course, but it's considered groundbreaking in some of its techniques.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Birth_of_a_Nation
The Birth of a Nation began filming in 1914 and pioneered such camera techniques as the use of panoramic long shots, the iris effects, still-shots, night photography, panning camera shots, and a carefully staged battle sequence with hundreds of extras made to look like thousands. It also contains many new artistic techniques, such as color tinting for dramatic purposes, building up the plot to an exciting climax, dramatizing history alongside fiction, and featuring its own musical score written for an orchestra.
