SPIN: Could The Wayans Bros. have lasted more seasons?

The Wayans Bros. got cancelled by WB after season five. At the time, it wasn't showing any signs of slowing down and it was a lot better than it was when it started. But how long was it going to last anyway?

Season six would have ended in 2000, the same year Scary Movie came out. There's no way Marlon and Shawn would have been able to handle the workload of filming the movie and working on the show at the same time. And even if they did, the movie took them three years to do, from writing it and filming it. The sequel came out a year later, so how would they have been able to manage that along with the show? It would have been done by 2001 at the latest.

But what do you guys think?

I would of watched but the last few episodes of season 5 were trash.

Marlon and Shawn were getting too big for that show. By the time Scary Movie 1 came out it was over.

And I liked the Wayans Brothers show too on the WB....but it wasn't going to last forever.

I'm not sure, but have you ever seen the film Bamboozled?

It was a good premise, but borderline wack. But.............it was one of the strangest things ever.
Spike cast one Wayans brother in a film that was DIRECTLY shytting on Wayans Brothers type tv shows(and the execs who gave them the greenlight).

It's like I'm gonna grab your big brothers hand and slap you in the face with his hand.

Never seen Bamboozled, but I read about it. Spike was taking shots at The Wayans Bros. and used one of them to do it?

I still think Bamboozled is one of Spike's best movies ever.

i'll say, they probably could have rebooted the show like how they did the Roseanne show. Like skipped 10 years. But I don't think they could have just kept going.

The show was getting better by the seasons unlike Martin, fresh prince, & the Jamie Foxx show.

They were really hitting their stride by season 3 & season 4 is one of the goat seasons from any sitcom.

We talking at least 2 more seasons of material left for them to work with

Ehhh bout time they replaced dark skin aunt viv, added Nicky, less screen time for jazz & gave Ashley more episodes they were stretching the series out.

It basically became will & Carlton shenanigans during the later seasons.
