I KNEW Mikey didn't stand a chance against Spence just off the shear size differential and Mikey isn't as fast as Pac-Man. After round 3, shyt came a bore face waiting to see how Spence was going to win whether it be by KO or on points.
Spence Vs Kell Brook or Spence vs Porter are far better for rewatches bruh. Mikey had beaten guys he had physical disadvantages against(Robert Easter is taller than Spence and has 4" of reach more than Spence), but this was too much. Spence made Mikey look B level in this fight.
Yeah those size excuses are gay...too many examples of shorter skilled guys getting the job done in various divisions.
Roy Jones was much smaller against Ruiz...Hearns moved up and his power followed him. Mosley moved up and beat De La Hoya..either you're great or youre not.
Easter was doing well the first few rounds...
Ruiz beat Evander Holyfield..lol. Wtf...that grab and rough style doesn't work with Roy.How many of those examples you can name that the BIGGER guy was faster, quicker, and more talented than the SMALLER guy? None....which is what Spence had over Miley
Ruiz beat Evander Holyfield..lol. Wtf...that grab and rough style doesn't work with Roy.
Mosley vs De LA Hoya was competitive...
Mikey didn't even show the heart of a Maidana when it was all said and done.
Spence looked like a damn middleweight that night. Mike aint NEVER fought anybody Spence size and speed to boat. Easter is a fukking twig. He had no shot that night no matter how many rounds they fought
Lol Mikey realized his boxing IQ wasn't gonna work once Spence started showing his amateur pedigree as well.
I'll never understand where this Spence can't box narrative came from like he was just a mindless pressure fighter. He was a 7x national champion as an amatuer and was an Olympian.
I think it's because he doesn't have a lot of head movement, so people confuse that with being basic. What people don't understand though is that his footwork is on point and he's always in position to throw..which is why all of his shots are HARD. He rarely ever gets frazzled and is balanced.
His defense is mostly blocks and a lot of parry's, which people often miss and don't see as it's not as obvious as head movement. He definitely has a different style,
It's almost like a more disciplined Mexican-American style blended with American Amateur....methodical, aesthetically pleasing yet vicious when it needs to be.
He said his first trainer was Mexican, and you can definitely see that with some of his body work.
