SPEED RACER had one of the all time great film climaxes! UNDERRATED!

Browsing youtube, came across this. Watched it like 25 times....

Say what you want about the movie as a whole (Actually don't say what you want, you either respect it or ) but you can't deny that this scene, and just the ending to the movie as a whole, was brilliant. I remember the first time I watched it, I was kinda lukewarm on the whole thing until this. I didn't *get* the movie until this final scene, and after that I had to go back and re-watch the entire film to truly appreciate it. And I rarely even like heavy CG like that (I think it's because it was truly necessary in this one and it actually was utilized to realize a world that was unique).

The editing. The music. The flashbacks. The visual design. The sound design. Perfection....most of the big budget comic book films that people stan for don't reach this level.

I fukked around and missed this when it was in theaters. Now I'm praying for some sort of re-release that will never come...

The ending race ALMOST made that movie worthwhile, almost like the directors (Wachowski's) were asleep the entire movie until the ending when they realized they needed to do SOMETHING to make this movie more than a CGI mastabatory wet dream.

The movie gets a lot of hate but considering it's based on an anime from the 70s it was decent. The CGI for the races was great especially, but you did yourself an injustice if you didn't see those scenes in IMAX

I liked the movie and it looks damn good on blu ray. And yeah, that ending was quite spectacular. I remember my boy and I talking about that endi g when we left the theater as one of the better movie ending out there and that the Warchowskis threw everything and the kitchen sink into the ending.
