Haven't watched yet and I'm not excusing commerical hip hop but this shyt goes a lot deeper than that.


I don't wanna get into it but we were associating one another and ourselves as "n****s" before hip hop came around, or became commercialized, and those seeds helped grow what we see today... I'll leave it at that :hubie:

of course we were, but we weren't blatantly promoting the destruction of our people the way we are now.

also, a lot of older heads have told me and i've overheard them say, that all that n**ga talk was for street cats, the hustlers, pimps, and pool hall dudes. regular everyday church going black folks didn't talk like that.

I agree 100% with his point about the imbalance of hip-hop artist exposure. It was gradual shift starting in the early 90's and by time you got to the late 90's early 2000's there was almost no variety of artists content wise on mainstream outlets.

On another note I can't believe he had a picture of Boyce Watkins as a prominent "activist" towards the end :thumbsdown:
