Funny thing is I feel the exact opposite. Song knocks. Also speaks to the level of skill back then and how high the bar was. G - Dep was fukkin spittin....

Went crazy on this joint, even though it's a single and come off pop like.

Off topic but another thing I think about is how a nikka like Beans was 2nd in command at the Roc but it ain't too many if any new nikkas fukking with him on the bars...

Breh would be the street GOAT if he came out with these nikkas. And fit right in too... He was early on the syrup and pills

Salute.

Beans was bananas.

You went off topic because you remembered how he murked the ‘Special Delivery’ beat on hot 97 when the Roc went at NAS and P. Z (he bodied Quiet Storm too.):blessed::salute:

Off topic. Then P called up Hot97 and put E Money Bags on the phone to Jay.

Jay stayed in the house till Supreme had E Bags taken out.:whoa::scusthov::sadcam:

Funny story:

I was in the BX back in like 2005-06 kickin it a friend's house. We both needed to cop some tree and he needed a new scale so he rang up his plug who lived a few blocks away.

Long story short, we knock when we get there and who opens the door? G-Dep.

It felt so completely random at the time, even more so now.

You right... One of my favorite freestyle sessions. That's two different ones though. When Beans ripped Special Delivery he was up there with the Prop no Jay... Jay was there when they was all deep the first time.

When Prodigy called is that when Jay start laughing talking about a nikka just called and wanted to battle for 10 thousand?

Yeah he was in the lobby and came back to take the call. P then passed the phone to Bags.

Jay just kept saying ‘Say no more’

I always thought G-Dep was dope :yeshrug:

he wasn’t on some lyrical miracle shyt, but he had a dope voice, an cool flow, and a dope overall style.

G-Dep is one of those rappers I think a lot of producers would enjoy working with, even if they weren’t fan-favorite rappers. I get why Diddy signed him.

I thought it was common knowledge that the remix is the ONLY version of this song

He was lyrical miracle, just with finesse and more style than most. Elegant flow, No nerd shyt, just spits fire, multis, but effortlessly.
