Long-running corruption investigation/trial into former President Zuma ended with him receiving a jail sentence. He exhausted his appeals, and finally turned himself in, but not before framing it as a ethnic witch-hunt targeting Zulus. His supporters started rioting after he went to jail and things have deteriorated since.

i have been seeing WILD videos on reddit. looks like whole teams of indians/arabs driving around fukking zulus up.

Not many Arabs in South Africa, they’re Indians. Durban, which is biggest city in Zumas home province (which is majority Zulu) has a very big Indian population and some of their businesses have been looted.
Not just them though, I read four Somalis have already been killed in the same province, all small corner store owners in townships. Mozambican transport truck drivers also got attacked and had their trucks burnt.
