Unless the drummer is incredibly on point... We talking Meters Isaac Hayes Kool etc... But usually the shyt speeds up from 5 bpm to something ridiculous...

That technique might sound dope on a hip hop track

i've done it, but slowing down bpm by 20 or more over a 1 minute period. using certain warp modes in ableton can yield some sick ass sounds
