2-11 with runners in scoring position tonight. Left 9 men on base. Third straight year they’ve collapsed in June too. 5-15 in their last 20 now. Worst record in baseball in that span. I still have yet to see any indication that they’re trying to change anything that isn’t working.

That won’t even make a difference at this point.
Need 3-5 new infielders, another outfielder, 1-2 new starters, and an entire new bullpen on top of needing a whole new front office and coaching staff while basically only 3 guys on the whole team have been any good for the past month. They’re closer last place than they are to a contender right now.

This game wouldn't have even been a win you would be proud of since the Red Sox just basically gave those runs away with their shoddy defense. But of course they melted down the stretch yet again and proved they can't do a single positive thing these days.

Also fukking DFA Grisham, can't stand this guy.

when you have that much to fix, all you can do is watch the house collapse on itself. They can make a move for move's sake like basically say we can lose with or without Gleyber and give some team a free look before free agency and just play Peraza or bring up Oscar Gonzalez and force Verdugo's hand until Stanton and the Martian return (and when Dominguez is ready to return, he's done playing in the minors; he's up for good). Bring up Gomez and just let him pitch the 7th (not even sure why they're messing with him; he has good stuff). Little things that may or may not make a difference but it's better than doing nothing. The Yankees are like Phil Jackson when someone has a 17-2 run on him and he doesn't call a timeout. This team doesn't deserve the benefit of the doubt of being able to get themselves out of it.

The issue is that most of these issues have been present since the offseason and they made no effort to address any of them.

Didn’t do anything last winter besides Stroman, Soto, and Verdugo when they also needed a first baseman since nobody should’ve ever expected Rizzo to turn it around at 35-36 after 4 years of decline and injuries, a catcher maybe, Had Torres approaching free agency and were content to neither trade or extend him, were content to let Stanton play a big role after missing 113 games and hitting .200 with a .280-.285 OBP the last two years, and were content to leave DJ and Cabrera at third base despite DJ being bad and hurt 3 years in a row and Cabrera had a sub .300 slugging percentage last year to go with a .275 OBP.

This is the biggest reason Cashman has to go. Year after year they have 5-7 moves that need to be made if not more and he’s content to make 1-3 moves or just do nothing at all. That and how painfully clear it is that Boone needs to go and how nobody will fire him.

Are we really surprised that a bad team with a bad manager is playing bad baseball?

The bad infield play was discussed in May. This team was shutout like 4 times in April alone. The Pen has been a problem all season

The signs were there. This was inevitable

It isn’t just bad though. They turned into legit the very worst team in baseball since the second week of June. Worst ERA, worst batting numbers minus 2 guys, and all sorts of mental mistakes from nearly everyone. They look so bad that I’m not sure they could take a game against the white sox right now.

Re: 1B: Everyone wanted Rizzo back because everyone thought it was key to bringing Judge back and last year we gave Rizzo the benefit of the doubt and blamed the Yankee medical staff for his issues (because he did hit before he got concussed). He just looks washed now. Also, we assumed, well if Rizzo sucks we'll just play DJ some at 1B. Wow. That's turned out horribly too. DJ falling off the way he has is like if Steph Curry shot 21% from 3 next year. The contact was supposed to age even if he had no more pop and he's lost everything. Rizzo and DJ are two moves that haven't panned out and we can't explain why. Sunk costs.

Gleyber I swear they were just gonna bank off walk year Gleyber. Remember when Soto hit and Judge didn't and some really thought Judge felt a way about the fans loving Soto to death? Turns out, they shoulda been wondering that about Gleyber cuz he's mentally checked out. For whatever reason he doesn't get the hate Gary got, but be that as it may. Gleyber shoulda never been brought back. He's only here other than walk year because Cashman hates Peraza and has a horrible poker face. I said all offseason, they can't come back with both Torres and Peraza. One has to go. Cashman kept both and now both of them look like they'll be elsewhere in 2025. Congratulations Cashman.

Stanton is simply this: he played well. They miss him. He got hurt and the next 2 in line (Dominguez and Pereira) both got hurt, but my solution is just to play Oscar Gonzalez (who if we never got Verdugo I woulda been more than ok with playing him in LF every day because in big moments he's hit).

The roster construction sucks but we needed a lot of guys to just resemble somewhat the player they used to be and they've failed miserably. This is on the players. It's also evident that this team can't play through aches and pains outside of Soto and Judge.

Left in the top of the 10th because I wasn’t going to sit thru the rest of this team meltdown.

They started slow, put up 3 lazy runs and then got sloppy the rest of the way.

Cashman better be active at the deadline and hope some of these iffy pretender teams don’t act like the Angels last year and delude themselves into thinking they have a shot. That way the Yanks can eat during the fire sales.

They owe the fans. Stadium was packed, people stayed after the rain delay, spent $ on food/booze yet the offense was anemic and the so called closer couldn’t event do a shĩtty Dollar Tree impression of Mariano.

Ridiculous.

Some CAC outside the stadium tried to buy my bobble head for $40. Maybe I woulda let it go for $200.
