I don’t blame him for a lot of things since this roster is short on talent but the fact that he always platoons guys for worse hitters based on if a lefty or righty even if the hitters he starts are awful is starting is firing worthy.

Trevino is not a major league caliber hitter and he shouldn’t be in the lineup anymore

They need to make a trade for more offense

2021 needed to be the end. Yeah the roster sucked, but it was clear he was terrible too. He’s not the source of their issues and the issues run way deeper than him, but he clearly isn’t good.

2013 Gardy & 2019 and 2020 DJ are the only seasons in the past 12 years where the leadoff spot hit even .270 for the year and those 2 years of DJ are the only ones where the leadoff spot posted a .355 OBP or better. Haven’t had a proper lead off hitter since 2012 Jeter. It’s a huge reason why the offense so frequently stalls out.
