Domínguez, the Yankees'
No. 1 prospect, finished his rehab assignment and was optioned to Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, where he spent the past seven games. Domínguez hit a combined .358 with six homers and 13 RBIs over 21 rehab games at three Minor League levels. The Yankees don't want to rush him to the Majors, although they believe he is physically ready to return.
"Just keep doing your thing, we love the person and the player," manager Aaron Boone said of the message to Domínguez. "We know he's going to be a big part of this, but also understand, too, that he's also still very, very young in his career. There is a lot to be gained and learned from every day. ... I feel like he knows he's destined for great things in this game."
