I don't see MosDef as the one to play that role, but he may surprise me...John Hawkes is PERFECT to play young De Niro

Louis and Ordell!!!!

But yea Hawkes is perfect for the young Deniro.....

gotta wait and see on Mos. Would have thought Anthony Mackie would have been better for that role. But we'll see.

mackie? did u see jackie brown? ordell was the boss in charge while louis followed his lead. Mackie has cemented his position in hollywood as 'the little (slow) brother' to make white leads look good hed be a terrible choice

Finally saw it..

it was ok.

There were times were Mos Def pulled off the "Samuel L." really well. I thought Hawkes was fantastic as Louis. In fact it adds even more to the great Robert Deniro performance now. You could see how prison really impacted him and made him a shell of what he once was. Which makes the "what the fukk happened to you" scene in Jackie Brown that much more powerful. Ultimately, I expected more or at least the direction to make more of the scenes that were shown.

I didnt realize it at first, but..

The younger version of Melanie from Jackie Brown (Bridget Fonda's character) was in this movie as well.

Mos Def and John Hawkes are playin the younger versions of the sam jack, DeNiro characters from Jackie Brown

For real this is actually a prequel of sorts? Same characters and all that!? Gonna be weird without Tarantino tho

Looks cool, I see they credited Mos as Yasiin Bey. But why say it's based on a book from the guy who wrote Get Shorty instead of Rum Punch/Jackie Brown?

Aside from John Hawkes this was a waste of time(and I wanted to like this so badly). To cleanse your pallet watch "The Friends of Eddie Coyle"
