And Democrats want to bury their heads in the sand and ignore the looming problem. They would rather demagogue Republicans and accuse them of trying to steal money from poor people then seriously address the most pressing fiscal issue facing our country.

Fine, we should just cut Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid.

Fukk those old people, if they don't have a pension and good health insurance then it's their fault for having been lazy leeches. If they have to live on the street or die because they couldn't afford their medications, that's just too bad. Not fair to make us "producers" pay for their shyt. They should've taken personal responsibility.

All is fair in the free market. :blessed:

If you really think that the Republicans proposed reforms to shore up Medicare would leave old people dying in the streets then you are a fukking idiot.

Don't fall for the Democrats scare tactics and fear mongering.

The numbers are the numbers, which is why I didnt post an opinion in the OP. But this free market nonsense :comeon: Everyone should be responsible for planning for the rest of their life, not counting on the govt. to do it for them. Again take responsibility for your own life.
There is no reason why people cant set money aside in EXACTLY the same way Social Security does voluntarily. None.
Because people will choose not to, is in no way a argument against the "free market"

So what is your party suggesting they do with Medicare and Social Security in order to address this problem?

How's about we just stop treating SS like it's operating money and get back to the idea that it's a savings/investment fund?

SS is broken, but it's goal and purpose is still important and required.

How about we close some of those tax loopholes?
How about we stop spending so much money on the military?
How about we fix the government instead of saying it's broken and not needed?
How about we focus on getting $$$ out of politics so all these special interest groups don't essentially set the game up to benefit only them?

There are ways to fix thing without tossing old people into the streets and i'm telling you right now the free market has no obligation to our citizens, the government does.

Yup. But can would they? ANd what happens when they don't? Do we just let them starve? I just checked my paystub and SS isn't killing me, nor has it ever, what's killing me is that they've used my money and i'll never see it again. Honestly had they used it for SS i'd even be ok with that, but seeing as congress just gave themselves ANOTHER FUKIN RAISE and some of that SS money i put aside into my GOVERNMENT SAVINGS is being used to pay them the problem isn't that SS is bad, it's that the fuks in charge of holding the money are using it to pay themselves and their friends.

You make this logic sound completely sound crazy, but in many contexts, it's completely justified. Imagine if early education weren't mandatory, for example. Not everything you're "forced" to do is simply a violation of your freedom. That is a very naïve view.

It's what's practical from a COUNTRY perspective. As a COUNTRY we can't have our old and poor being shyt out of luck. On a personal level it shouldn't be that way, but you can't control what people do. The broken part is that IMHO we've set up system of perpetual poverty for too many people and these social nets are now ways of life, THAT shouldn't be.

But yeah, government has to look out for it's well being (e.g. it's people) just as much as companies need to watch out for their own (e.g. its profit).

This is in every way government holding peoples hand.
It should be a private decision, with private consequences and/or benefits.

that said, it is by far the least offensive of govt. policies.

it is crazy
