Even though we will see it on tape delay later, former Russian figure skater Irina Rodnina just got done lighting the Olympic flame. It turns out that in September she tweeted (and deleted) a racist picture of the Obamas. Even though she deleted the pic, at the time she had this to say:

Rodnina insisted that there was nothing wrong with the photograph, and said she had been sent it by friends in America. “Freedom of speech is freedom of speech, and you should answer for your own hang-ups,” she wrote.

Rodnina, who lived in the US for many years, deleted the photograph but has not apologised and remains unfazed by accusations of racism. Instead, she suggested that the wave of criticism she prompted from liberal journalists and other Russians was a conspiracy.

So it’s everyone else’s fault that she’s a racist. Got it.

From the moment I found that the Olympics were going to be held in racist ass Russia I already knew this kind of shyt was coming. Eastern Europeans are intolerant as fukk, so it blew my mind that they'd hold an international event in such a racist, sexist, homophobic, etc. place. Hopefully if these games turn out to be a disaster, they'll take the world cup away from them and host it in Africa or Asia.
