Who knows

Nothing suggests that they will put someone good unless an obama like unicorn appears out of nowhere again

The Dems are going to have to run a much better campaign, not necessarily in regards to policies and such but rather attitude and mentality, one of the things that has led the Blue side into becoming stagnant in their approach is the fact many Democrats as well as their voters overestimated, underestimated, miscalculated, and overly reliant on running on the idea of “not being Trump” failing to understand that's a losing strategy and is not good enough to win.
The Dems are going to need a candidate that can “restore the feeling” that was present in '08 and, to some extent, in '12. Now, the nominee doesn't have to be Obama 2.0, but they need to have that ability to galvanize the people similarly.
It's hard to say if the Democrats have a candidate that's good enough to restore the feelings of '08 and '12. I'm not convinced that Newsom, who people keep drooling over, can get it done, and Whitmer, unless she's a VP option, the Dems would be setting themselves up for another loss to run her as a #1 because America simply isn't ready nor interested in appointing a woman as leader of the country.

Well, I don't think Newsom or Whitmer are ideal at this point as many previously believed to be, I could see either one of them (or together as a ticket) losing in the same fashion as Kamala.

It's far too early to decide who, just gonna have to ride the next four years out, and possibly a newer face during that time might make their case as to why they're the best choice moving forward.

I think it has to be a completely new name rather than the usual household names being floated around. The reason is that you need someone with no baggage attached to their name.

There is a not a single candidate I can think of to garner the support that Kamala got, honestly I think the Democrats are cooked.
Depends on what happens the next 4 years. If Trump is as fukk-up, Americans will be searching for a change, and Dems will be able to put almost anybody up there and win.

I think Gavin Newsom is gonna be the next candidate.

2028 is a long way away and a lot will happen between now and then.

It will be some White guy that looks the part :mjpls: that will be more relatable to those Rust Belt and rural American cacs.

Dems will probably back off the culture wars like LGBTQ rights, immigration, and abortion to and focus on jobs, the economy, lowering the prices of good and services too which will be more relatable to working class Whites especially if it’s coming from a White man they want to see themselves in.

Wouldn’t be surprised at Josh Shapiro, although the Christian right isn’t voting for a Jew
Wouldn’t be surprised if Corey Booker made a second attempt
Wes Moore
Newsome
Big Gretch
Mark Cuban

I’m positive the Republican ticket will be Vance and Vivek
America not ready for another Black male or female :yeshrug:

After dems lost 2016 and 2024 with non-white non-male candidates, with 2020 having an old cac win it, i bet this is the case
