I mean, what the hell? I'm 4 songs into Life Is Good and, while I'm not ready to give it the type of rhapsodic praise that others have given it here, it's already a cut above Channel Orange.

I was going to review this in time, but screw it, it was a 7 or so, nothing more. I'm not sure how even those who loved this album defends this.

And before people jump on this, my opinion has nothing to do with Ocean's sexuality (I'm largely fine with that part of the review), it's just a grossly wrong score in my opinion.

This is a true statement, but I'm not that guy. I just take it as it is. It's a damn ridiculous score.

Oh, and if Life Is Good keeps its quality through my listens of it, then whoever gives it less than an 8 just hates the concept of post-Illmatic Nas, nothing more. TYhis as really good and motivated stuff from him.

Even sites that gave it 4/5 like HiphopDX the average userscore is 4.59/5

5 is the highest, 4 is the lowest. 4.75 the higher quartile, 4.25 the lower quartile and 4.5 the mean.
Pitchfork didn't give it the highest review like a lot of other cats, they gave it above avg within the interval that cats are grading the album within.

I agree that the 9.5 was probably a bit overboard , but the album is in the range of 8.5 and 9.5 just look at the reviews across the board. What you gon write a review and give it a 7 on some oddball stuff go ahead. When you have legit artist saying they love the album someone has to be right.
