I think a Citizen Kane type movie about the death of Superman would be pretty epic.
Meaning the movie would start with Superman already dead and the world in mourning. Then maybe you could have Lois Lane do like a huge piece about his life in the Daily Planet and so she goes back and interviews all the most important people in his life. Pa and Ma Kent, Lana Lang, Lex Luthor, Batman, Wonder Woman etc... and with each new perspective we get to witness a new chapter in Clark's life. We would see it all. His discovery by the Kents, his childhood, his high school years, his self discovery, his introduction as Superman to the world, his adventures, his quarrels with Lex, the formation of the Justice League... all the way up until his death... and then finally concluding with his triumphant return.

@ the bolded.. I've thought the same thing for years.. Show the fight through flashbacks and at the same time you get "World Without A Superman" and the "Return of Superman" all in the same movie
