NEW ERA
in 2004, Michael Vick was arguably the best sports game player of all time. we're talking better than 03-04 NBA Live Shaq, better than the back in the day "#23" that graced earlier bball games. I'd say the only other sports game player to rival 2004 Vick was Tecmo Bowl Bo Jackson

Michael Vick's dominance was because of his 90+ speed rating that enabled him to easily outrun d-linemen as well as linebackers and some DB's too. got 2 or 3 spies on Vick? No problem. Ppl would still just scramble around and than "playmaker" the receiver in the direction of open space for an easy completion. what was then created was a mad dash to pick the Falcons in Madden online gaming and they were one of the most unbalanced teams ever

nowadays with over a third of the teams in the league with a QB that rivals 2004 Vick but possibly even better, is playing Madden even worth the frustration nowadays? back in the day, i broke numerous controllers in rage. i can only imagine it now. I bought Madden 13 when it dropped and sold it a month later because defense was virtually nonexistent. most of the ppl I played against picked Eagles, Redskins, Panthers, Niners, or the Packers. so not only do these teams are running QB's with damn good arms, but they have receivers that sport 96+ speed ratings. so if u do manage to shut down the scrambling for a play or two, its easy to throw a 60 yard bomb to a streaking Pierre Garcon or Desean Jackson :sadbron:

basically the point of this thread is...

anyone still playing this madden shyt with the likes of Wilson, Kaepernick, Newton, RG3, Rodgers, Luck in the game? :sadbron:...the cheesing must be at an all time high

in the franchise i just brought my drafted qb up to a 94 speed......all because once i played with vick in 2004, it was hard for me to go back to using a pocket passer.....

Low key, but NCAA 06 Vince Young > 04 Vick.

Why?

He broke tackles :sadbron:

VY would outrun lineman, juke linebackers, and run straight through your entire secondary as soon as he got into he "zone". Atleast with 04 Vick you knew if you got him surrounded it was over. 06 Young would run through all your nikkas.

AND unlike 04 Vick, he had a high throw accuracy rating.

people aint seeing you tho

i purposefully quit when i saw people pick Texas...BUT ever since the next gen consoles came out they toned down the difference in speed between the fastest and slowest players

simply putting a DE in contain will stop most people from scrambling, telling your LBs to big hit will make most QBs fumble etc

you just gotta improve your D, scrambling is only a problem if you like to run man alot.

Yeah, i do this or run man w/ a spying linebacker that i control. i occasionally blitz the CBs as well.

in general, im just patient on defense though since Madden finally started making "mobile" qbs fumble-prone. so many 60 yard drives ended with lost fumbles. :blessed: dude's who play w/ mobile QBs usually suck and have extremely 1 dimensional games. once you neutralize the scramble, they're thrown off and don't really have another gameplan they can execute. open up a two TD lead in the second half, and it's time for the defense to feast. :timetofeast:

As a duo, Vick and DeSean Jackson used to give my defenses FITS.

The Saints Offense in Madden '11 was damn near unstoppable if your opponent was decent at passing :to:.

Id argue if you are truly skill that being Rodgers, Brady, or Brees is worst especially if your Hot Routing game is on point

On the low, in Madden 02 (my freshman year of college), Jaquez Green won the Madden Bowl that year and they made him unstoppable despite like a 80 rating or so. I used to have 400 yard receiving games with that nikka, all bombs! :krs:
