I cant remember the article but there was one where they spoke to the VP at Def Jam and he didnt feel like it was gonna be his last album on Def Jam and they were very much in the business of working with him.
Why not though? He's given them three straight number one albums, two of which went gold easily and a third one that'll probably eventually get that plaque too.

He might sign with Live Nation. And before you laugh, understand Nas can tour forever and has a strong following. He may not sell out arenas, but Live Nation would give Nas 60 million for a 10 year contract.
