now that black wrestlers are poppin up in droves, im beginning to hear the backhanded compliment of "great athlete" being attached to most of these guys/gals on a regular basis.
the WWE does this ALL THE TIME. and the dumbass black commentators even do it.
but the most bold statement came courtesy of don callis on impact this week during the matt sydal/dezmond Xavier matchup. when the match began. he noted that sydal is in a rare situation where his opponent is more athletic. in fairness, he pushed Xavier as the most athletic wrestler in the world(as if ricochet doesn't exist). then near the end of the match, he said the difference between Xavier & sydal is that, Xavier will just give you the moves, while sydal will give you that, but thinks his moves out better(something like that).
again, in fairness, he noted that Xavier is young and he'll get it in time. but still I cringed.
