So London is slowly replacing New York/L.A. as the go-to city to destroy in movies now?

All released this decade:

(videos all in spoilers so it don't blow up anybody's pc laptop phone etc.)

London has Fallen

Independence Day: Resurgence (London gets that work @1.43)

G.I. Joe: Retaliation (@0.54 amazing scene btw)

The 5th Wave (@2.09)

The Mummy (2017)

Trailer for the new Hellboy movie (@1.26, don't look at 1.25 if you don't like gore)

Same with the Spider-Man: Far From Home trailer (between 1.35 and 1.53)

Well it definitely feels like it. It may not be 'replacing' NYC or LA but I'm definitely seeing London get destroyed more and more theses days, and NY and LA getting it less and less. I understand that 9/11 made it so that you won't see New York getting destroyed as much even though The Day After Tomorrow, Watchmen and X-Men: Apocalypse still used New York. And Los Angeles got destroyed so much at one time that anytime I see the Downtown LA skyline, I usually expect to see it get leveled, even if its a romcom or something. 2012 and San Andreas are recent ones I can think of.

Not just London, I think Chicago and San Francisco are the 2 main cities to be getting it more than before.

San Francisco - San Andreas, Terminator Genisys, Pacific Rim, Monsters vs. Aliens, Godizilla 2014 + I see the skyline on fire in the trailer for the new one coming out, X-Men The Last Stand (just the Golden Gate Bridge but still)

Chicago - Transformers 3 and 4, Rampage, the Divergent series shows Chicago in ruins. Not a movie, but I can remember some game that didn't get released called I Am Alive where Chicago got hit by an earthquake.

- Speak on it

Noticed that trend too.. lmao at "London getting that work"...
NY gets obliterated enough over the years, (after 9/11, they started the downward shift away from NY)
London Has Fallen was my ish.. tho:thumbsup:
Chicago is def getting more looks in movies, not so much "disaster" type movies but as far as the setting.

:laff:London been getting destroyed in films for a minute now. As a Londoner I'm looking at the screen like :why::damn::mjcry: Whenever it happens.

It’s like London’s been soft ever since Trump came through and walked in front of the Queen :troll:

It's kind of refreshing to see Boston getting that work in Godzilla: KOTM although I have two friends who live there that doesn't like it that much.

":damn: NOOO! NOT FENWAY PARK! THAT'S fukkED UP! THAT'S fukkED UP! :sadcam:"

Lol when its your own hometown then it gets personal.

But I'm glad they're starting to not discriminate against other cities nowadays that were always neglected. New cities are now getting the chance to get wiped off the face of the earth like NY and LA always got.

Philadelphia kinda got it in World War Z, Baltimore got it in The Sum of All Fears years ago, even Orlando Florida got in Geostorm despite it being a silly movie.

Yep its only fair New York gets let off after years of getting it. New York already had its own tragedy on 9/11 so I sympathize with some victims likely not wanting to see big disasters replayed on screen.

But Chicago though...
