Rewatching the trilogy for when Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes.
Man coming back to this 13 years later, and it's still great. Seeing Caesar grow up with Will and his father. The biggest sign of how great the connection is when Caesar goes out and protects Will's father when his
Alzheimer's Disease comes back. Man he's just trying to protect his family
Even better is that he ended up being a wingman for Will go out with Dr. Caroline. It's funny at the moment but the connection these 3 have with Caesar is great. Will took him out of whim and let's be honest his main motivation for his research was to help his father. But in the middle of the film he wants to save both of them.
Then you see Casear's resolve getting testing once he is imprisoned. He looks at Will, and he feels betrayed and confused. Then he learns the nature of the other apes. Man seeing him say "No" for the first time was like
. The funny thing with that c*nt of a son is that he looked as these apes as below him. Like the rest of the humans minus Will and Caroline their solution is to just kill the rebelling apes. But if you notice throughout the film Caesar tries to avoid killing humans whenever one of the apes is about to do it when it can be avoided.
The big was when he allows his fellow ape to kill Jacobs. Recognizing he doesn't deserve to be saved. After all Jacobs was greedy ignoring Will's warning.
The movie ends with Caesar that his is home. Showing that he belongs with his kind. Caesar still deeply cares for Will, but at this point it's not natural for him to be around humans like he used to be. Plus there are consequences for what happened.
The movie showcases what happens when intelligence is given. In this case an ape. It was fine when Caesar was home with Will because Caesar was in a space where he was happy. But when Caesar learned how other apes were treated he learned the realities of this world. Not to mention whenever a human outside Will, his father and Caroline saw him, they looked at Caesar like they were beneath them. But the apes came together with a plan that not only outsmarted the humans, but their escape was much less violent oriented than what humans think of when they think of apes.
Once again this was great
