Shooting percentage has always been a worthless stat for a perimeter player. Just like assists and rebounds.

The biggest difference is Kobe is not chucking shots, he's playing within the flow of the offense and not forcing anything. It also helps that there are more guys on the team willing to take shots right now

I don't think it will continue but if he shoots close to 50% this year, the Lakers will be very good
