Atlanta To New Orleans
This thread isn't even reactionary. This thread is straight up watching him since he came into the NBA... and realizing that it's time for him to go.

Is he a VERY talented player? Yes. Does he put the team on his back when called upon? Sometimes, yes. Is he worth max money? Hell no.

And Josh will never have max money worth because he doesn't make smart plays when it's time to get it done. The over and back, the shot clock management. Too many 3s taken STILL after he SAID he'd cut down on them... he's still taking them in clutch situations. :rudy:

I wish Josh better and I hope he finds a coach that will get him to finally listen and mature more. But based on the Hawks needing to not max him and our current staff, Josh is going to be better off somewhere else. And I wish him all the best.

But uh... Josh Smith gotta go.

I heard Dwight don't want us. Time to just rebuild and get in the race to land Wiggins or Parker.

It's been time for him to go for two-three years now. Yeah yeah yeah he's 27 but it's his 9th year in the league, he is what he is at this point. he's a guy that's gonna show flashes but ultimately never put it together. That's what he's gonna be regardless of where he is.

whats to say the hawks don't do it? they gave joe johnson 2 max contracts if I remember correctly.

remember when they overpaid him when he was with phx and still unproven?

no doubt, but u also saw how quick when danny ferry came in that they got rid of that contract like :whew:

i mean, u need to hold onto someone..hawks could do it, if they want to go out and sign someone else big to compete...they shedded that joe j contract, so they should be in play for a big free agent...but if they cant land one, then they stay in that "76er" mode of being competitive but not being good enough to do anything or bad enough to rebuild through the draft

Of course the ATL
Hawks fans been saying this for YEARS. We finally got a GM in Ferry bold enough to do it. At this point it's about whether we trade him now or see whassup in the offseason
