So I watched Mississippi Burning again.
It was showing on Encore just now.

That shyt blows my mind.
Like, that's a whole different level of racism that I couldn't even imagine. And that's just a movie. Reality was far worse.

How do black people watch that movie and not be filled with hatred when it's over? :sadcam:
If I was white, I would definitely not want to watch that movie with a black person.

They've done a good job hiding away our history. I watched this video like two weeks ago and that...man that made me so angry. especially for our women who we couldn't protect at all back then.

Nothing but truth in this video. They don't want this stuff taught to us cause they'll see some real anger. All of it is unresolved:wow:

i dont watch movies like that anymore
they dont reallly do anything but make me upset
Yeah its weird I can watch movies about the wildest shyt with all types of blood, gore, drug use, suicide, rape, disembowelment, cannibalism, torture, penises being severed, just some wild shyt but movies like Mississippi Burning just piss me off so I avoid them, I can't do it. I mean I guess its cool that they evoke emotion but I don't like being pissed off for no reason

it's just like when I went to the theater after the intiial wave of viewers for "12 Years a Slave" and there were multiple groups of white folks getting up and leaving (or the ones who stayed covering their faces and flinching like it was a fukkin Paranormal Activity movie). There was an older black couple (70s) there and you can see tears streaming down their faces. I wanted to jump and yell "nah, sit the fukk down. This is your ancestors you're so proud about."

Well I watch all those movies. It helps me stay grounded and focused. Nikka might watch some feel good shyt on tv and start to think everything is changing. I use those movies as my alarm clock

I get irritated seeing black people say "I don't watch those movies cause I don't want to get mad" then I watch these same nikkas get mad cause some one didn't like they status, curse people out in traffic for cutting in front of them and not giving them the "thank you wave" and mad at they spouse cause they didnt pick up the phone when they called, yet don't want to watch movies cause they don't want to get mad? :pachaha:

Just say you don't want to be mad at white people. Cause we have no issue being upset with black folks.
