So, I been working out for over a decade, and I never knew I was bench pressing wrong :ohhh:

Long story short, I suffered an AC joint sprain and some tendonitis in my rotator cuff.

Did some research, and it turns out that I was doing bench press wrong (dunno if it was the main factor, but im sure it didn't help):ohhh:

Apparently, youre supposed to do them like this:

Not like this:

There's a whole write up here:

Shoulder Savers - Part 1 | T Nation

Im just :mindblown: cuz I thought I was getting pretty strong in bench (was hitting 5x5 285 before injury)

But this new, correct way is supposed to be even better and let me reach my full potential :wow:

I like to use dumbells and have my elbows at an angle.

Dont think my triceps gonna allow me to throw up the same weight if I use that form:sadcam:

Some powerlifters here showed me the way a few months ago and I've gone up drastically. It still feels a little weird tbh.

With that said I might go back to the flared way next Sunday to see how it feels now.

:parice: idk the GOAT did it flared.

seems like the "new" way in the OP is to isolate the tris more than the chest :patrice:

Right. I be seeing these videos of out-of-shape cats displaying "proper form" then you look at dudes with impressive physiques and their form is different and sometimes all over the place.

I always side with the dude who has the results. :yeshrug:

It all depends. If your lifting simply for the numbers then that's the right way. But doing it that way will not build a good chest

wld u recommend alternating per week?
you want to build a chest then do lots of incline bench press and weighted dips. Make sure you stretch your shoulders before you do this so you don't get tendonitis. if you can do 275 for reps on incline youll be a monster so work toward that
