:ohhh:

First and foremost I'm a vet in the gym but been out for bout a year (was in Rio all last summer and a nicca just stopped lifting a giving a fucc cuz I was having a ball :ahh:) but now I'm back and gotta stop BS'in. Luckily, I don't look like I'm THAT bad. I'm looking flabby to me tho. (from a bodybuilding perspective, not normal people)

But Planet Fitness is pretty cool for the cost ($10) and its open 24 hours on the weekdays. The DB's only go up to 60 and only Smith machines but u can do a lot with that if u kno what u doing. I've read bad things bout PF from people offline and on bodybuilding.com but I have nothing bad to say about it. Yet. :takedat:

to each it's own. From a business standpoint, as profitable company I believe they have the right mindset.

Not everyone is into the stereotypical customs of a gym. (lifting heavy weights and hypermasculinized individuals roaming around, feeling like they are being judging by their physiological appearance)

I think just getting people to become active is the most important step.

Realistically most people who acquire gym memberships will never touch the surface of becoming anywhere near aesthetically pleasing such as individuals like @krackdagawd & @Spliff.

But like I said from a business standpoint, If I had the financial resources, I put one of those in the city I live in, and :eat: good for the rest of my life.

They are marketing towards a particular group. That's their business. It's not for serious weightlifting so no grunting or farting is allowed.

The Gold's Gym I go to is almost like that though. Kind of stupid considering they got started in providing places for bodybuilders. They have no power racks.
One third of the place is cardio machines. One third are machines and the rest are free weight lifting stuff.

PF is a great gym to go if you're a beginner and just getting your feet wet or if you're basically just into cardio.

I think it depends on who is running it. My wife goes to a Planet Fitness right across the street from our house, and I've been in there and seen some nikkas deadlifting, and doing squats (even though it was on the Smith machine), and heard some dumbbells being dropped. And the person at the front desk was just like :manny:

I go to Equinox but my membership is coming up, and it is hurting my pockets some, is PF an equal alternative? How clean is the gym and do they have good spin classes for cardio?

if you know what you are doing you can get a serious workout at PF. the only thing i dont like is lack of regular bench pressing areas and that the dumbbells only go to 60. but i make due and ive had some success in there. i miss new york sports club tho and ill be back there in a year.

I go to Golds Gym now but when I went to PF the gym and locker room was always very clean. But they don't offer any classes at all.
