Hogan was a good wrestler and a GREAT worker. Even with his easier WWF workrate, he still ended up physically fukked up just due to basic bumps and being 300 pounds. Pretty much... '80s wrestling, for the most part, wasn't really a 'workrate' thing in America. You had your guys who were great workers and set standards for what wrestlers would do in the next decade, but overall it was more about the spectacle, the characters, and the excitement factor.

And I hate to give Hogan credit for anything, but back then we just wanted to see the big moves and the big comebacks from him. We weren't really dying to see him put on a 20-minute pure wrestling exhibit. So I guess it's like "give the people what they paid for".
