So he spends 10 minutes explaining Coulomb's law & 50 minutes...

Showing youtube videos on projects he is working on. Some nonsense about bacteria in space.

2nd class he fumbles explaining vector forces, then goes on about space and NASA the rest of the class.

I should have used Rate My Professors | Find and rate your professor, campus and more - RateMyProfessors.com

I don't have to tell you, I'm going to be studying chapter 22 & 23 all weekend because we got our first test in 3 weeks.

What you need help on breh?

There is a secret to dealing with EMF and formulas.

Coulomb's Law is nothing though. shyt most of my E&M classes were cut 20-30 minutes short nearly everytime.

Most difficult thing of that class was Electric Fields due to continuous charge distributions, which is pretty easy itself.

Gauss' Law is cake, Ampere's Law is just like Gauss' Law, and Faraday's Law is also like the other two except you take the derivative of the flux with respect to time afterward.

Okay, I guess that's how it is the 2nd semester.

Slowly getting it, without the textbook I would be toast. The instructor is horrible.

I'm getting the hand of the formulas, but I would be interested in knowing the "secret" to dealing with the formulas.

What exactly are you having trouble with, what section are you on?

edit: Just saw you're not really having trouble.

If you're willing to spend ~$20, this book right here sums up the main parts of calculus-based E&M, and it's really easy to read:

Amazon.com: A Student's Guide to Maxwell's Equations (9780521701471): Daniel Fleisch: Books

It doesn't have the circuit stuff, but everything else is right on target. It's simple has a good share of math but the concepts behind the equations and math are very well explained.

5 stars after 78 customer reviews should give you an idea of how good it is.

I've read through Halliday and Resnick (what we used back then), Serway, and Young's Physics textbooks and neither of those explain E&M as good as the one in the link.

I downloaded Serway because I couldn't find free links for the required text, Serway is pretty much a comic book.

Ohanian Physics is the required text for the class and it pretty much saved me this semester. I got volume 2 for $9 @ Used, New, and Out of Print Books - We Buy and Sell - Powell's Books.

I would be clueless without it, mechanics was much easier and I didn't have to use the book. All I needed was the formulas.
