Dude picked nothing but bad films and his career went to shyt because of it. Why feel sorry for him.

That is exactely what I was thinking. But I enjoyed "Savages". I never saw "John Carter" or "Battleship".
But don't y'all think it was a little weird how he just started being pushed for lead roles all of sudden last year. I never saw him really doing any supporting roles in movies beforehand.

At least Tatum showed some kind of range in 21 Jumpstreet. Kitsch is just flat. He has that same lost look in his eyes when he's in movies. It's like Tim Riggins playing random roles in horrible movies. It worked in Friday Night Lights bc he didn't really have to do too much but in his movies.....

Not weird, most new Hollywood actors get pushed forward because of how they look/who they know. Being able to act and doing an apprenticeship isn't important anymore.

Daniel Day-Lewis is a good example of the kind of life that leads to someone being a good actor. Even though he grew up rich he was troubled and turned to acting when young, then grew up acting in local TV, theater etc, in a lot of small parts before building his career up gradually.
He wasn't some random sheltered Disney child actor that got leads at the age of 22 because teenage girls thought he was cute.

i don't think anyone thinks of channing tatum as a megastar..
but he is a fairly big draw for girls. bytches were hype for that stripper movie.
he does a decent job of mixing in some action roles while doing the chick flicks.
which is pretty much what kitsch should've been doing. both appeal to girls and both have starred in big budget action roles.
