Snoop Dogg is seeking to dismiss a lawsuit filed against him and Death Row Records seeking over $100 million in damages.

Lydia Harris, the ex-wife of Death Row co-founder Michael “Harry-O” Harris, has accused Snoop and Suge Knight, as well as Interscope Records, Time Warner and Universal Music Group, of failing to pay her a $107 million judgement relating to a 2005 court order.

In response, Snoop has filed to dismiss the lawsuit, claiming the accusations exceed the statute of limitations.

Snoop and his legal team have also accused Harris of being a “bad faith litigant” who “continued a pattern of harassment in California for years and has now shifted her harassment to a new forum in Texas,” where her latest suit was filed.

The court has yet to rule on Snoop’s motion while the other parties to the lawsuit are yet to comment.

Harris claims she invested $1.5 million to help set up Death Row in 1989, but was not recompensated when the label started making money.

She alleges all of the parties named in the lawsuit conspired to keep her from her rightful earnings.

Harris is seeking punitive damages, the recovery of assets owed to her and a full accounting of the record label’s finances.

Did Snoop get the catalog in the deal for the label rights or just the label?

All these lawsuits are because the DR catalog itself is valuable. The label as a brand had a shot at a resurgence but Snoop ain't did enough with it - it's probably over now.

Snoop has bragged about owning Death Row so he's bound to get the baggage that comes with it. Also, I don't believe he owns the actual back catalog; believe it's just branding and any of the releases since he obtained the branding.

All these nikkas who still want to hold onto the DR label for whatever reason need to let that shyt go

It’s BEEN over

All these lawsuits and back and forth over who owns a label that’s been dead for almost 30 years now is a waste of time and energy
I've been happy with BODR, Tha Dogg Pound, Eastsidaz and October London albums they did for Death Row :manny:

100%

Plus some of the cuts from the compilation albums (e.g. Death Row Summer 2022) have some heat on them also. Some smooth R&B cuts too, which isn’t even usually my bag.

Do I really????

I’d rather just listen to when an artist is in his or her prime than a shell of their former selves
If you're into smooth ass R&B you should definitely check out October London's albums. I can't fault you not wanting to hear the rappers past their primes, but for me I was surprised how good a lot of it sounds considering how far removed from the heyday we are. And I won't even front, Missionary wasn't exactly what I'd hoped for but I was fine with what I got.
