It's an interesting idea from the standpoint of slavery's history, but too historically flawed to be meaningful on an individual, ancestral level unless you start making a lot of assumptions about your ancestors. All this "reclaiming your heritage" stuff is more fantasy than reality, just like those DNA tests that purport to tell you about your ancestry.

I've contemplated on going to this for a few years now. I have mixed feelings on it though, mostly because I heard them Ghanians try to hustle the fuk out of you on those tours.
