that's not a compliment

Not a huge fan of that beat

Yeah idk what he's doing making songs like this :rudy:

He had a good niche doing slightly boring 90's NY sounding shyt over soul tracks

Why mess that up now
It's not like he'll sell more units doing crossover music

This is too far left... production-wise he found the right mix of what appeals to underground heads and what appeals to a broader audience on that Live from the Tape Deck album

Not the best Illmind beat, 'Frisbees' was way nicer

:why: His old stuff with Justus League was great

Now he does a poor-mans Erick Sermon impersonation :piss:

:russ: thats funny

those are different styles Erick Sermon being on that Rockwilder east coast keyboard beat/Korg module shyt and Illmind being on some electro/south/trap music shyt

but a weak keyboard beat is still a weak keyboard beat at the end of the day :ehh:

thats a funny thing about producers they all think they're on some next shyt but in reality almost everything sounds alike and no one's really standing out

The other side, otherwise
At first I was about to agree with the consensus, but now I'm thinking this will take a few listens. The subtleties of the drums got me open by around the 2:30 mark. I don't think it will ever bang per se, and I'm not completely sold just yet, but I'll give it a :obama:

:youngsabo: i'm more bothered by the lack of good melodies in the beat than anything else

J. Cole had a dubstep-influenced track on his album and it was pretty :whew:

Not a fan of Illminds new sound...

I've been a huge fan of Illmind since way before damn near anyone, and remember being so happy for dude when he got on G-Unit Radio 21 with Make a Movie.

I dig some of his newer stuff, but this isn't my cup of Brisk. Props to him for trying new shyt, though.
