Skullgirls is an Indie fighting game on PSN and XBLA, and it has now been released on Steam for Windows. The developers have announced Linux and Mac ports, but they haven't given a time frame for those.
It costs $14.99 and you get the main game and the Beta version on Steam. The Beta version lasts indefinitely and lets you try out the new additions and changes to the game as they happen before they are added to the main game. The developers ran a successful Indiegogo campaign in which 5 new DLC characters were funded, and if you download those characters within three months of their release, you get them for free. The first DLC character was released today. The developers are gonna eventually update the console versions with the changes that the PC version gets.
The game is good for people new to fighting games because the tutorial explains fighting game terms that can be intimidating to learn for newcomers. It also shows you the individual characters' moves and when to use them.
Modern computers should have no trouble running the game. It runs fine on my netbook.
