I can only go but so fast and only forward and diagonal. And none of that fancy shyt. For one, because I can’t do it, and also because real men don’t twirl around. Take ya ass around the rink one time, then go get some nachos in the lil food area and get on them hoes. Leave the routines to them skating ass nikkas.

We came up here to look tough and cool, get on the hoes in the food area, and possibly fight. That was my skating rink experience growing up.

Down in Texas we was on the same shyt at that time too. Used to be this place in my neighborhood called "The Solar Roller" where Saturday nights was always either the greatest or most terrifying night of your teenage life. Then came Sunday round 5-9 which seemed to be the "witching hours" in small town late 1980s and early to mid 1990s Texas. Great times tho, especially when the skate guys who been taking it wayyy too seriously since what seemed like the 70s would show up. They'd have custom skates, and be doing all types of routines. Ain't gonna lie, 10 yr old me was highly impressed, but by the time I was around 12 those guys seemed like a joke. It was also around 12-14 we realized all the real action was in the parking lot. That's where you get the girls.

:wow: Skate Key in the 90s.

But I never went at night. fukk around and get shot. :hubie:

by the mid/late 90s Skate Key turned itself into an endangered species with all of the fukkery. But it must have been a great place to chill and skate back in the 80s.

Venue like that attracted a lot of good but also a decent amount of bad elements and the random ass violence became a regular thing (basically a kiddy/teen version of what did Sin City in). But I miss those days when there would literally be artists performing at Skate Key. One time I went and wondered why no one was skating and it was because Ja Rule was about to do a set over on the stage area.

shyt, it wasn’t like I knew how skate anyway :bryan:
