Reason he wanted out is because they didn’t want to give him a long contract. I don’t see Harden backing down unless that promise was guaranteed. Otherwise we gonna see the same bullshyt he pulled with Houston and BK when he wanted out.

Harden would be an idiot to self-sabotage himself just to get out of Philly considering that he's looking for a long term deal after the season.

Philly probably told him they were extending him which is why he signed the 1 and 1 in the first place. I’m shocked they couldn’t pull a deal off with the clippers since they have assets to move

I think it was more so the Clippers not wanting to do the deal and give up what assets they do have left than Philly because of the uncertainty around the future of PG and Kawhi.

He's not getting a long term deal regardless
He just led the league in assists and had no suitors
Next year being another year older isn't gonna land him shyt
There's nothing he can do short of turning the clock back to being Houston Harden for an entire season that's gonna get him a long term deal

And that's exactly the premise of my point. Him self sabotaging himself and showing up out of shape is going to make that task even more harder than it is now.

He will and would have gotten a long term deal, but not the years that he's looking for.
