my older sister has become the black sheep of the family and ran away from home at 18 over emotional and while she still had support to college quickly flunked out.

flash forward 3 years she is moved back at home because she couldnt support herself and has bad money management. the problem with all of this is she doesnt seem to care about her appearance at all anymore. I think shes still on drugs tbh she smokes cigarettes and drinks but swears she doesnt do anything else. But im ashamed to tell yall she dresses any kind of way when she goes out, putting together the wackest combinations. she seems out of it not necessarily when we knew she was on drugs but enough to where you know reality aint quite there for her. sounds bad i know imagine living with her during the summer. I wanna help her but honestly i dont even know where to start anymore. what kind of drugs can she be on to where she doesnt even acknowledge her outer appearance anymore? and how would you help somebody in this position

all the time...but she gets offended so easily and her being overly emotional has never really went away. I feel like im the most honest out of my family. everybody else gives her little rewards for doing the smallest things

we did this shyt for my cousin, called in this specialist for like them rehab center places to help him out. moved him to NC for a year came back sober as hell like a new man, always goes to church, doesn't drink anymore. takes care of his kids, got re-married. nikka on his shyt now. Google it on the net for websites, I'm not sure which one my aunt was on but I'm sure u'll find something.

Idk about interventions but sometimes that shyt helps too??

problems i see with this situation:

your sister is probably on pills/coke or she did so many drugs previously that she has damaged her brain while it was still in a development phase. Go through her phone you'll be able to figure out who is selling her shyt pretty easily.

some members of your family act as enablers for her behavior, thats gotta stop.

you literally cannot help someone who doesn't want to get clean.

its hard to accept cause its your family but trying to save a drug addict that doesn't want help is basically like trying to grab the controls of an airplane that is spiraling down to the ground. you could try and guide it to safety but the odds are that you'll just go down with the plane.

Weed

Real spit only thing you can do is guide her towards what she wants out of life. There has to be something that gets her going in the morning. Maybe painting, drawing, exercise(which I recommend for someone who smokes and drinks). It's going to a be a mind numbing task on your part because a person like that will fight you tooth and nail. Just try not to attack too much. If she is still "alive" she knows she fukked up. It's just getting that person to admit it, acknowledge it and start over.

It ain't easy and it's a long road breh but if you value family, it's worth it man.
I had a cousin who was going thru something like this, You gotta break them down and build them back up. Best way I can put it.
Don't beat around the bush, that's fam there shouldn't be no shame, tell her str8 up; look you ain't shyt right now, is this really how you trying live at 25 or whatever age she is. Break em down, build em up. She's a chick so it works breh just take time with it.

appreciate the replies in this thread alot. and as previously stated at one point she was in the hospital and they did find coke in her system after my fam heard about it nobody really did anything about kind of just suspected maybe it was a one time thing. I knew something was up last year though when we were both in the dorms and she asked to borrow my car at 3 in the morning of course i said no but had me like damn whats wrong with that girl

Listen before your sis really loses it. Step in and act like family nikka, fukk all the extra shyt about how yo ppl perceive the situation, your not stupid and are aware of what's going on, take action, Idc if she's older, that's still blood. God forbid anythig happens, you funa have guilt nikka.
