Whenever one or a group of human beings want to or need sanction to behave in a manner that is patently unjust, all while abdicating responsibility for said behavior and desiring excuse from having to justifiably submit to the same treatment, they always have to invoke an authority outside of humanity itself.

Not always... but it's the most convent way because it help conceal the true intentions and true leaders

and directs the focus away from the actual atrocity. . .

it does more than that, in fact it does not even need to hide intent as it sublimates intent into something unchallengeable. Who dares question a god? it validates intent, imbuing it with an absolute and unquestionable supernatural authority

Was Genghis Khan motivated by God? I think he believed in animal spirts n shyt..... and he fukked Christian and Muslim hoes... and allowed for religous freedom in all the areas they took over. What was his justification for murking off a potion of our species?

that's the example that came to mind but then I thought of his motives...what were they? Typically speaking power and respect come to mind and there's the "outside of humanity" invocation. In terms of balancing out if you're going to discard humanity I think i might have to agree it's usually because of something outside of humanity...and no not always just God(s).

that's an interesting switch
1. can you show me where I speak of motivation?
2. did he establish himself as a God? or use god to justify his actions?

Marx, and ultimately Stalin were not motivated by god. Although I guess you could argue that they were motivated by the oppression of the masses which itself was justified by god...so maybe you're on to something :ehh:

Hitler and the Nazi's were motivated by human concerns, though.

motivation is not central to my hypothesis
god as a tool of casuistry and a patsy is

Disagree.

Sometimes they will use "humanity itself" as the explanation.

Science is and will be used the same way.
idk.

I'm very religious and even I say God is the greatest excuse to murk a bunch of people .

But People are simple minded when they say things like REligion caused this.... @tmonster is avoiding Motivation because he knows that religion is hardly ever the true motivator.
