What a bizarre ending

I don't get why the captain left the air lock? Then the scene after the water explodes out of the facility and he's lying against a rock with Luna holding out that badge thing in front of him? I could kinda tell it was gonna have a confusing ending but whatever, overall the show was great but a bit confusing.

he had to depressurize the room. He couldn’t do it from the inside because the screen was messed up inside… his lieutenant didn’t have to die though they should all shot Ryu and got it over with… I wonder if the captain just lost consciousness because of the blast? The ending leaves so much to be desired though. Kinda makes the show not worth it since you have no clue where this could all go with Luna

Before I pressed play on the first episode it looked like one of those shows that I'd probably get bored of after a while, then I binge watched 6 episodes until like 4 in the morning.
