Showa American Story, a "post-apocalyptic romance RPG" and "alternate history ensemble period drama," will launch for PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam in 2025, publisher 2P Games and developer NEKCOM Games announced. The previously announced PlayStation 4 version is no longer planned.

Showa American Story is a road movie-style action RPG in which you travel across America as protagonist Chouko Chigusa in a camper van and motorcycle, visiting locations such as New Yokohama (Hollywood), San Francisco, Las Vegas, and Neo Tokyo-4 (Austin, Texas), and Mount Rushmore. Along the way, she fights zombies and strange creatures in action-based combat, utilizing swords, guns, and various other weapons.
