I tried to put cats onto this months ago and all they said was it seemed boring. Same people probably call "The Wire" the GOAT but tell people to skip seasons. :snoop:

Fred.
I fast forward all the scenes with cops and more than 2 white people on screen. Skip seasons 2&5. Goat show.

David Simon also has a new TV series on deck that takes place in 70's NY and deals with the porn industry and crime. Simon coming back for that throne.

I read about David Simon working on a period drama but didn't really know what to expect. There were rumors of him working on a piece that took place during the rise of the drug epidemic and about him working on a piece about a musician.

I try and read all David Simon's work, listen to his interviews/lectures, and watch all of his content (from Homicide to Treme). Parts of Treme were insufferable, but other than that, I think David Simon is one of the great journalistic and literary talents of the past three decades.

Was hoping he would do something based on Robert Moses or someone similar:

But hey. :feedme:

Treme is his weakest project in his career but it was still okay.

On the cusp of his biggest movie role yet, Oscar Isaac is making his first major foray into television. Isaac stars in Show Me a Hero, a new miniseries by The Wire creator David Simon and Crash director Paul Haggis, as real-life Yonkers, New York mayor Nick Wasicsko.

When a federal court demands that the city build low-income housing units within the city’s wealthier white neighborhoods, the city threatens to tear itself apart, and destroy Nick in the process. Catherine Keener, Alfred Molina, Winona Ryder, LaTanya Richardson-Jackson, Bob Balaban, and Jim Belushi also star. Watch the Show Me a Hero trailer after the jump.
