ive been working on my shoulders alot more. Its getting stronger. However one thing ive noticed is that now my shoulders feel and move alot more "rigid", like its not loose, and "athletic", if you get me.

anything i can do to promote shoulder looseness. I do stretch, but i feel like its the mass in my upper body making the region more rigid and heavy.

shoulder dislocations.. with a band or a broomstick.. roll out your chest with a softball or similar against a wall, esp the upper area.

Shoulder Dislocations - YouTube

Jesus...are these easier than they look?

I used to go HARD on my shoulders only doing one shoulder specific excersize (military presses with dumbbells). My shoulders were huge but I was definately a lot less flexible in that area. Ive actually had people say my shoulders looked like shoulder pad when i wore certain shirts lol. Since then I haven't done military presses at all for about 6 months so that the rest of my body could catch up.

Obviously when I start back on them I'm going to add more excersizes to the workout but I'm wondering are these shoulder dislocations actually doable for the average person. Never tried it but that shyt looks serious lol.

easier than it looks. the wider your grip, the easier it is.

Stretch more, as others have said, and make sure they're balanced, too. Shoulders are actually relatively fragile, because it's a bunch of smaller muscles, each of which are more easily damaged and difficult to fix if you get injured. If you work out just the anterior or posterior delts more, the imbalance will affect your flexibility, besides risking permanent injuries and preventing you from lifting more.

In general, though, making it to the larger levels of size will come with a decrease in flexibility- there's no way around that. That's why you can't really be a great bodybuilder and a great martial artist at once.

So if you could make workout for shoulders to fit in with say..a chest day? I work out for about hour and 15 minutes.

I just need a simple shoulder workout that gives a nice balance in general. I need to get started back on my shoulders.

this was really my concern. I noticed it when trying to shadowbox. my shoulder felt alot stiffer/heavier.
