It has become very apparent that the Series S is holding back the Series X due to the fact that game developers are having a hard time optimizing games on the less powerful system.

Other games (GTA 6) will start delaying their releases on Xbox too in the near future, as it has already happened with BG3, GOTY, and Black Myth: Wukong. It's a GOTY potential. The X Series S is a weak, less powerful system, a nice console that's helpful for players that don't have the extra money for the XSX and the PS5 to experience new things, but it really is holding back gaming. Not to mention, GTA 6 will be the biggest and more powerful game than BG3. Black Myth: Wukong That will be more problems for Xbox since they couldn't handle BG3. Black Myth: Wukong, so what makes you think they can handle GTA6? Also, not to mention, PS5 Pro will be dropped in the next year as GTA 6.

If I was an Xbox fan, I would be heated as fukk and mad at them for making XSS.

in the BG3 thread nikkas was calling Larian 'lazy' for not dropping the Xbox version quickly when they had to figure out how to downgrade their game to run on a system that weak :mjlol:

trying to run act 3 of the GOTY on a chipset weaker than some phones and at least two refigerators was a daunting task.
But they eventually did it :wow:
love that studio

Shame Xbox wasn't smart enough to not make people have to do that.

The S should have always been a gateway system, not intended to run the highest end stuff at all. So you hook people on the ecosystem and tell them they keep their games if they move up to the next tier and access the stuff their old S couldn't run. Maybe work a deal with gamestop to kick some money off the X when trading in an S as a perpetual promotion that draws people in to gamestop instead of using other resellers as a win-win.

Instead, they're handcuffing an anchor to themselves with the S, then latching a hand around Sony's ankle because the generation only moves as fast as the slowest member of it for all multiplats. It should be the selling point of the X - that's where real 'next gen' lives, whereas the S is the entry-point.

forced parity just
