Should i upgrade to windows 8 on my pc?

I have a custom built pc i built 2 years ago. Saw that windows 8 looks kind of annoying and seems to be built for more touch screens. But right now its still 40bucks before february, i may want to buy now just to get it cheap in case i want to upgrade later

Its 50/50 , i have a non touch screen laptop and did the upgrade when it dropped , honestly it hasn't been bad or good , didn't give my computer any extra functionality, didn't take away thing. I did it though in case i buy a gadget like a windows 8 tablet ( surface RT when it hits firesale) and there is some extra functionality included with that.

if you bought a touchscreen tablet wouldn't windows 8 come pre-installed anyway though?

Any reason to have windows 8 due to game functionality? not that i play any of the steam games i have now

yea, no what i mean is am sure having a windows 8 computer + windows 8 tablet would be better than having a W7 computer and W8 tablet

no idea about the gaming aspect

It honestly depends on your usage and workflow, if you're planning on doing gaming or any development there's no reason to upgrade in my opinion
