Back in 96, the 1st RnB act singed to Jay's Roc a Fella dropped a Classic RnB song called "Full of Smoke". These two twin singers had amazing voices and so much soul. Sadly their careers didn't take off. I personally thought their debut album Ghetto Cyrano was pretty good. But I felt Jay should of pushed them more but the rap aspect of the Roc took over. Jay was obviously trying to do a Puffy thing with RnB but he didn't do it right. Christion should be bigger to me:

Yeah... Roc-a-Fella wasn't strong at pushing R&B acts, at all.

If they had been on another label, it coulda happened. Especially since they came around just when the early "neo-soul" movement started kicking off with D'Angelo, Maxwell, Erykah, and others. They woulda had a much better shot on a label that was more established and able to work a group like them.

It was their voices man, I get what you saying. You felt how much they loved that chick through their voices. Dudes were talented.

Yea, Bad Boy was the best Rnb/Hip Hop fusion label ever. I wish Jay would of asked Puff for some help with Christion, they were to talented. I know the 1st album didn't do well but I think with the right production they would of succeeded.

CLASSIC song, DAMN NEAR classic album....

but like Rell at the time, The Roc had no idea what to do with an R&B group.

If Hov really wanted to put them dudes back on the map, he woulda brought 'em on stage, had 'em stand on either side of him and

The album was dope too, but R&B was still crazy when they dropped. So I don't think they could've really competed with the artists back then.
